Phil Parkinson sent to stands as Addicks crash

Sunday, 01 November 2009

Carlisle United 3 Charlton 1

CHARLTON boss Phil Parkinson was sent to the stands as the Addicks slipped to defeat in Cumbria.

The South Londoners' manager was raging when the home side were awarded a soft-looking penalty for a foul by Deon Burton. Debutant keeper Carl Ikeme saved Ian Harte's spot-kick but the former Leeds man netted the rebound.

Burton equalised for Charlton, stepping up to score after Graham Kavanagh brought him down inside the box.

But Kavanagh made amends by scoring a superb and decisive second-half double.
