Chris Hussey confident after Coventry debut
Thursday, 22 October 2009
CHRIS Hussey says making his Championship debut on Tuesday night was the perfect way to end a whirlwind week.
The 20-year-old signed for Coventry last Friday ago in a deal believed to be worth a six-figure fee, signing a three-and-a-half-year contract.
And Sky Blues boss Chris Coleman threw him on as a substitute with 22 minutes remaining in their 2-0 defeat at Cardiff in midweek.
“It’s been quite a week,” said Hussey. “It’s been good and I’ve really enjoyed it. Being involved on Tuesday night shows that Chris Coleman has got faith in me.
“Given the way the game had gone, it probably wasn’t the best time for me to come on, but I was thrown in at the deep end and that was a challenge. I’ve been given lots of encouragement and the manager has said he doesn’t expect me to be the finished product straight away.”
For the full story and Hussey's thoughts on his Dons exit, see Friday's South London Press.
