Stray cat's prayers answered

Doorkins the cat
A STRAY cat has found faith after being adopted by Southwark Cathedral.
The tabby turned up between Christmas and the new year in search of some food and warmth at the historic cathedral in London Bridge.
Staff adopted it and have named it “Doorkins” – because it waits by the doors for the vergers to arrive and let it in each morning.
Doorkins is said to eat whatever is lying around and seems to enjoy listening to the church music.
Paul Timms, the dean’s verger, said: “This is yet another illustration of the way cathedral congregations are steadily increasing.
“No doubt there will, in due course be an application for a cat flap to the Cathedrals Fabric Commission for England.
“Its full name, with respect to the Cathedral’s dedication to Our Lady and the season of the cat’s arrival will be Doorkins Magnificat.”

Surely this is also a pun of arch-atheist Richard Dawkins...
