STEVE Parish has revealed that Crystal Palace’s £17.8million profit for the last financial year has already been ploughed back into the club.

And the Eagles chairman knows that keeping control over the wagebill in the summer is of vital importance as the Premier League outfit look to strengthen their squad even further.

Palace’s accounts - fully released last week - were only ever going to make for good reading after their first season in the top flight.

The profit, after tax, was a huge cash hike on the £3.54m that was announced in June 2013, when the club won promotion via a Wembley play-off final.

Turnover leapt from £14.5m to £90.4m - with broadcasting income accounting for £74.1 of that total.

“Sometimes it is difficult for people that are not au fait with accounts to totally understand them,” said Parish.
