Jackett slams Lions' defending

Tuesday, 18 September 2012

MILLWALL boss Kenny Jackett was upset with the quality of the defending during his side's 2-0 home defeat by Cardiff.

The game was goalless at half-time but Cardiff scored two goals early in the seonnd half, within three minutes of each other, and the home side's confidence ebbed away.

Jackett said: "We did not close them down particularly well for either goal.

"We offered them very good shooting positions when we had enough men behind the ball - we were not out-numbered.

"I was just looking for the final ball in the first half - we had a good hold of the game but we have to see it through.

"I had hoped in the second half we might build up as we faced towards our end - that we would give the supporters something to cheer about.

"But then two quick goals gave us a mountain to climb.

"They are fine margins in this division between winning and losing. I didn't think we were a million miles away. It's now about assessing how you are and making up the gaps. We know what we need to do."

Yet another poor performance from Millwall. Kenny Jacket must have watched a different game to us. Jackett talks about we know what to do and how to fix it but he has been saying that for all last season and again Millwall start a new season very poorly.Time for a major shake up at the club. Berlyson’s face at the final whistle was not happy!
