Thanks for supporting Walk the Wye

SIR,
On behalf of the Rotary Clubs of Monmouth, Chepstow and Ross on Wye, I am writing to express our thanks to the Beacon for the considerable help given to promoting our Walk The Wye sponsored walk, along the banks of the Wye on Sunday 13th May.
Also to say thank you for the kind donation from the Beacon in support of the event.
The articles which appeared each week in the Monmouthshire Beacon in the run up to the walk undoubtedly made a major contribution to the success of the event.
The full page feature, which included an entry form, designed by your team, was excellent. Please pass on our thanks to the local businesses that supported the page.
Almost 450 walkers took part, and we hope to have raised in excess of £15,000 in sponsorship money.
All the money raised will be donated to the breast cancer research charity, In The Pink, (75 per cent) and other charities supported by the Rotary Clubs of Monmouth, Chepstow and Ross on Wye (25 per cent).
In The Pink Charity was formed 10 years ago by a former breast cancer patient and her friends. To date they have raised over £1 million for the breast cancer research team at Velindre, Cardiff, by running canal and river walks across South Wales.
