Palace confident Zaha will stay for promotion push
Saturday, 12 January 2013
IAN Holloway is confident that he will be able to call upon Wilfried Zaha for the rest of the season.
Manchester United are cranking up their interest in the 20-year-old Crystal Palace winger, who was capped by England in November.
Sources at the Old Trafford giants have indicated they are increasingly confident of striking a deal for Zaha, who has attracted interest from all of England's top clubs.
But Holloway told the South London Press that he expects the academy product to be involved in the Eagles' push for the Premier League.
The South Londoners are keen that any deal struck now would see Zaha stay in SE25 until the summer.
Holloway told the South London Press: "Am I confident he'll be here for Saturday's game? Yeah. I'm very confident he'll be helping me for the rest of the season.
"Do I expect some interest? Yeah. Do I expect us to get our valuation? Probably not. Now do I expect any movement? Probably not. My chairman Steve Parish deals with that and he has gone to America.
"Do I expect to weaken ourselves? Definitely not - read into that what you will. The club are well prepared.
"We're well rehearsed in what should happen and if it does and we're ready for that then our fans would understand what we've tried to do."
